Counselling

Welcome to a Safe Space for Growth and Understanding

Are you looking for a counselling approach that values your unique experiences and needs? I offer pluralistic, neurodiversity-affirming counselling for adults, tailored to meet you where you are, whether you seek short-term support or long-term growth.

What Is Pluralistic Counselling?

You might be coming to counselling because something in your life feels hard to carry on your own. That could be anxiety that never fully settles, low mood that comes and goes, difficulties in relationships, or the lasting impact of past experiences such as trauma, loss or abuse.

Often it isn’t just one thing, but a mix that feels tangled and difficult to put into words.

For many people, these experiences are shaped by how their mind works. You may find your thoughts move quickly, circle back on themselves, or struggle to settle. Emotions can feel intense, changeable, or hard to regulate, especially under stress.

Everyday expectations can take more effort than they seem to for others, leaving you feeling tired, frustrated or self-critical.

Counselling offers a space where these experiences are understood in context. The work is informed by an understanding of ADHD and neurodivergence, even when that isn’t the main reason you’re seeking support.

Rather than separating your difficulties from how you process the world, therapy brings the two together in a way that feels respectful and realistic.

Sessions are shaped around you. Some people come with a clear focus, others arrive knowing something isn’t quite right but needing time to explore it.

There’s no pressure to explain yourself neatly, stay on track, or fit a particular way of working. We move at a pace that supports how you think, feel and process things.

This space can support you with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, relationship challenges, trauma and bereavement, while holding awareness of the wider patterns that influence how these show up in your life

Neurodiversity-Affirming Counselling

This is a neurodivergence-affirming space, where difference is respected rather than treated as something to be corrected.

You may identify as autistic, have ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, or another form of neurodivergence, or you may simply know that the world doesn’t quite fit how you think, feel or process things.

Many neurodivergent people spend years masking, adapting or pushing themselves to meet expectations that don’t align with their needs. Over time, this can affect confidence, relationships, emotionall wellbeing and a sense of safety in the world.

Neurodivergence-affirming counselling recognises that your way of processing, communicating and relating is valid. The focus is not on changing who you are, but on understanding yourself more fully and finding ways of living and relating that feel more manageable and authentic.

This space is particularly supportive for those exploring identity, late diagnosis, burnout, relationship difficulties, or the emotional impact of feeling different or misunderstood over time.

Sessions move at your pace, with flexibility around communication, structure and expression.
